BIOGRAPHY - Alessandro Tomassetti (Born 1970)
Alessandro Tomassetti (b. 1970, Toronto, Canada) is a figurative painter based in Barcelona, known for his intimate portraits of contemporary men. His work has been exhibited at the Architecture+Design Museum and Sotheby’s in Los Angeles, the MEAM in Barcelona, the Salmagundi Club in New York, the Zhou B Art Center in Chicago and the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art. He has won awards through the Tom of Finland Foundation and the Art Renewal Center where his paintings have toured as part of their International Salon. His work has appeared in Architectural Digest (US, France & Spain editions) and he has been featured in several issues of PoetsArtists. Through PoetsArtists he has participated in online exclusive shows on Artsy as well as physical group shows with their partner galleries. He received a BFA from McMaster University and later specialized in Computer Animation and Fashion Design. He created special effects for Hollywood films and designed menswear before dedicating himself to painting.
