Alex Komolov wins his suit against Jack Shaoul of Universe Antiques. About 7 years ago Komolov bought a Renoir from Shaoul which turned out to be a fake. The jury awarded him $1.1M (the purchase price) plus interest (another $700K). According to Derrick Taylor … it’s unclear where the fake painting will go as fears build it may re-enter the market thus ripping off another art collector.
