Source: The Sacred & the Profane – we just added this Cesare Detti (1847-1914) to our available online inventory. Detti was born in Italy and by the age of 15 was studying at the Accademia di San Luca. In 1876 he traveled to Paris, where he would settle, and met Adolphe Goupil. Detti was a frequent exhibitor at the Paris Salon and soon came to the attention of William H. Vanderbilt … who would acquire a number of works directly from the artist.
