The tortured artist ‘is a myth’ – happy artist = good art

Here is a great article for all our artist friends.  Kathryn Graddy, a professor at Brandeis University, has determined that artists do not produce their best work during periods of bereavement.  According to her research, works done during the 2 years after the death of a friend or relative usually have 1/2 the value of works done during different periods. So, happy artist = good art.  I can tell you from an art dealer’s perspective, when artists are in a funk (or in an unhappy place) their work suffers.   For the full article, click HERE.
