Painting Bought for 50 Cents in Indiana Going up for Auction

March 17, 2015

When Jesse Ronnenbaum negotiated the $1 asking price of a small painting in half at a yard sale, he had no idea how great of a deal he made at the time.  After several years, Ronnenbaum realized the words “Palette and Chisel Club 1910” in the corner – a Fine Arts Academy in Chicago.  He did his research and reached out to the academy and auctions where he learned that the painting, painted by seven different academy artists (very unusual), may be worth $10,000… even better, he was told it could bring in upwards of $25,000 at auction on a good day!
