Revolutionizing the Viewer Experience

June 2, 2014

Not too long ago Google unveiled their newest innovation, Google Glass, a wearable headset which resembles a pair of glasses. Seamlessly blending technology with the world around us, Google Glass gives the user access to incredible features and information, from taking pictures via the built in camera to translating printed words in real time.

A team from Manchester Metropolitan University is working on a project which would revolutionize the gallery and museum experience. In theory, the wearer would be able to walk up to a work of art, capture a picture using the camera and instantly access information about the piece; similar to what you might find in a brochure or guidebook. The whole thing sounds pretty incredible… except for the fact that you will have to save up $1,500 for these hi-tech specs.
