Naked Keeler’s Painting on Show, 50 Years After Profumo

July 11, 2013

Naked Keeler’s Painting on Show, 50 Years After Profumo – the current exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery, London, “Scandal ’63: The Fiftieth Anniversary of the Profumo Affair” explores the changes brought about by John Profumo’s actions.  Profumo, the U.K.’s secretary of state for war, stood in the House of Commons and lied about his relationship with Christine Keeler (a young model).  It is funny that today we are not even phased by these lies — which seem to happen all the time.
