Kobe Bryant memorabilia lawsuit settled; parents apologize

June 10, 2013

After a long dispute and just one week before trial, Kobe Bryant and Goldin Auctions came to an agreement where approximately 10% of the original items will be sold. The sale will be comprised of just six items, which may still bring in over $500,000 combined. The items being auctioned are very rare memorabilia and this sale may be the only place pieces like these will ever be offered. Of the items being sold are two of Bryant’s high school uniforms and 2 rings from the 2000 Lakers championship (these rings were presented to Bryant’s parents, they are not Kobe’s championship rings). A portion of the proceeds from some of the items will be donated to charity, including half the selling price of Bryant’s 2000 NBA All-Star ring. The auction will start accepting bids on June 17th and will end on July 19th.
