Famous German artist Georg Baselitz’s home was raided after his name came up on a CD bought last summer by North Rhine-Westphalia, containing a list of secret bank account data. It is believed that he was given a prior warning about the tax evasion search and had time to get to Italy, where he owns another property, before the officers reached his door near Munich. Baselitz is one of the world’s highest-earning artists whose works sell for millions of dollars.
