Femme et la vache de l’eau. This incredible 19th century European painting, which dates from 1884, is among Dupre’s earliest works to include an animal and really shows him at the top of his artistic game. Over the years we have seen many painted copies of the painting and finally the original has surfaced; it was last on the market (as far as we know) in 1938, when is sold for $90.
