Emily M. Wolfson has been painting her whole life, but only in recent years has she felt free to paint exactly what moves her. Her oil paintings combine meticulous realism with a playful sense of the unexpected. She places animals in everyday settings beside objects they would never normally be found with, and renders each scene so convincingly that it feels entirely believable. The humor comes from the surprise.

Emily grew up in North Jersey and earned her undergraduate degree in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis. After settling in Pennsylvania, she founded Unforgettaballs, a sports collectibles company where she spent 30 years creating painted and printed art on baseballs. Her hand-painted baseballs were commissioned by celebrities, the Baseball Hall of Fame and a former Commissioner of Baseball. Her work also appeared on two television shows and in a major motion picture.

In 2021, Emily turned her focus fully to fine art and began painting exclusively in oils. After working in acrylics for most of her career, she found that oil paint gave her work a new depth and richness.
