The Berkshire Museum’s decision to sell some of its most valuable assets (40 works of art) is still a hot topic. Since the sales are scheduled to be held in November, there isn’t much time for the Attorney General to chime in.
I have said this before, if a museum decides to sell works from their collection that are minor examples, are never shown and do not add to the mission of that museum, so what. However, in this instance the museum is selling off many of their most valuable works and among them are two major paintings that were donated an the artist — Norman Rockwell.
We will keep you updated on the saga and if the works do end up being sold, we will give you the numbers.
