Scholarly research is flourishing but curators’ ability to judge an object’s quality is not

Wonderful story by Mark Jones in The Art Newspaper.  We see this in many part of the art world today … not just at the museum level.  Fakes move freely through the art market because there is money to be made … it would be really nice if those fakes were destroyed — one can only dream!
