It’s Finally Over – They Can Sell

Berkshire Museum

Justice David Lowy has ruled that the Berkshire Museum can move forward with the planned sale of up to 40 works of art.  Norman Rockwell’s “Shuffleton’s Barbershop” will be sold to another museum and then the Berkshire can sell additional works until it reaches its goal of $55M.

It would be interesting to know what the ‘other’ museum has offered for the Rockwell.  At this point, both the museum’s board and Sotheby’s must be pretty happy … we cannot say the same for the residence of Berkshire County who fought as hard as they could to stop the sale.
