This is not just any book, it is a Book of Hours prayer book that once belonged to King Francis I. In the 16th century, the King gifted the book to his 10 year old niece and now it is in a private collection in Great Britain.
The Louvre is looking for some financial help to acquire this tiny gem; the price, 10M euros ($11.8M). So far, LVHM has pledged half the money, and now it is up to the museum to come up with the rest … anyone want to donate?
