This past week’s sales in London were very strong and at the end of the month we will cover all the action. I am posting this short article because I found the last paragraph very interesting:
Before the auction, Klimt’s flowery painting, “Bauerngarten (Blumengarten)” was bought by Sotheby’s from its owner, David Graham, a Canadian collector based in London.
Can anyone say: conflict of interest. And in case you are wondering, Mr. Graham bought the work in 1994 for £3.7 million … not a bad return!
